Story Sacks
A story sack is a large cloth bag containing a children's book with supporting materials to stimulate reading activities and make shared reading a memorable and enjoyable experience. The sack contains soft toys of the books main characters, props and scenery that brings the book to life. The children in my care enjoy listening to these stories. I have 'Handa's Surprise' (See below) and 'Monkey Puzzle".

We have live caterpillers that we look after and watch them grow into butterflies, we also do lots of crafts and activities and learn about their life cycle.
The children enjoy using the butterfly and caterpiller stamps to make their own pictures.
Messy Play
The chidren enjoy doing lots of messy play! We use water, sand, shaving foam, jelly, water bubbles and much much more.
The children really enjoy filling and emptying containers with pasta and spaghetti.
Shaving foam is always a big favourite with the children and we hide small creatures in the foam for the children to find.
Water balls are great they are really slippery in your hands.
Water play using funnels, measuring cylinders and lots of sea creatures.
The children enjoy completing a range of jigsaws.
We look at 5 Letters, 3 Colours and 2 Shapes a month. Focusing on these small groups helps the children to retain the information.
The children enjoy using the soft play equipment. They make lots of creative structures from bridges, buses and motorbikes.
Playroom (See right)
The playroom with lots of toys. We always have a messy play activity on the table in the conservatory or in the kitchen. We have different toys out each week to stimulate the children.
We go to a lovely toddler group on a Wednesday where they have lots of large play equippment for the children to explore.
Cooking
The children have lots of fun cooking.
The children enjoyed making blackberry heart shape bisciuts.
Painting
We do lots of painting with our hands, stamps and in this picture we were painting with vegetables and fruit for our healthy eating theme.
We used chopsticks to eat rice and made a horse for chinese new year.
Nature
We enjoy going on nature walks collecting conkers, leaves to make collages and blackberries to make rubbings on fabric and pictures.
The children made butterfly pictures using the blackberries they picked.
